The FDA approved Thermography in 1982 as a viable adjunct to
mammography. There have been more that 800 studies involving
258,000 women, many revealing the safety and reliable early
detection of thermal imaging.
Thermography involves no radiation, so it's 100% safe for women
at any age. Because no X-rays are involved, it can be used to
follow suspicious areas at frequent intervals. Best of all it's
painless and detects the earliest signs of breast abnormalities
(8-10 years pre-mammogram), for women of any age. Its no wonder
women choose thermal imaging as a preferred method of breast
health screening.

Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI) offers the opportunity of earlier detection of breast disease
than has been possible with breast self-examination, physician
examination, or mammography alone.
Each individual has her own thermal pattern,
similar to a finger print (normally symmetric) that is accurate
and static throughout her lifetime. Any
changes to her normal “thermal print” caused by early cell
changes (pathology) will become increasingly apparent; DITI
detects the formation of blood vessels necessary for tumors to
grow (angiogensis). Monitoring changes over periods of time
with DITI is the most efficient means of identifying subjects
who require further investigation.
In order to track changes in the
breast with thermal imaging, you must have a two scans three
months apart as a baseline from which future scans can be
compared.

A Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI) camera is used to
capture and record the heat emitted from the skin surface.
The resulting images are transferred onto a computer, where
along with a completed questionnaire, they are
sent electronically, to a private database, and forwarded to
a Certified Thermologist for interpretation.
The area of the body to be imaged needs to be uncovered and
cooled down for 10-15 minutes prior to scanning. The imaging
takes from 10-30 minutes depending upon the region of
interest.
A written interpretation and full set of images are
electronically returned, downloaded, duplicated and sent to
patients directly. The extra report and images may be given
by the patient to their physicians for review.
